Alpetra Nature Reserve

Alpetra Nature Reserve is a 4 000 ha (10 000acre) private owned, operated and managed property nestled in the world renown Waterberg Biosphere. The property was bought in 2000 by the late Alan Fourie Senior, and has been run and managed by the Fourie family Trust since.

Since 2000 the property has been developed and care for to cater for the true nature lover. We believe to not interfere to much with nature, but only to help nature where it is needed.

At Alpetra Nature Reserve we do our outmost best to share everything that God and nature has entrusted us to looking after. Our “openess’ to share and make you feel, not just part of the Alpetra family, but also part of our piece of heaven here in the Waterberg biosphere.

With our dedicated team of managers, PH’s, guides, trackers, skinners, cooks and cleaners we aim to make you feel comfortable and home at your home away from home.

Our property is well known for Buffalo, Kudu, Eland and then our representative specie of the Klipspringer. Our rivers and reservoir provide for a very wide variety of bird species, with the Fish Eagle and Kingfisher on the top of the list.

With the abundance of water on Alpetra Nature Reserve, we are fortunate to have a variety of Tilapia species (Kurper) as well as Karp. We are just a stones’ throw away from Mokolo dam, that is widely known for its exceptional Large Mouthed Black Bass. With our chartered boat for Mokolo, this is an outing that no Bass fisherman should pass on!
